SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and execution of the IT strategy aligned with KH MFI’s strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align business goals with technology capabilities, participating in financial and operational reviews.
  • Prepare and report on the department’s Annual Operating Plan to the CEO on a monthly basis.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of MIS and other systems to support business operations.
  • Evaluate and improve the performance of network infrastructure and information systems.
  • Ensure systems availability, data integrity, and optimal performance.
  • Develop and implement IT security policies and procedures to safeguard data and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Lead IT projects from concept to implementation, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Manage IT vendors and procurement processes, ensuring value for money and service quality.
  • Supervise the installation and maintenance of systems and infrastructure in accordance with specifications.
  • Plan and facilitate user training for application software across the organization.
  • Assess staff development needs and implement appropriate training, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Lead, supervise, and support IT staff to achieve departmental goals.
  • Conduct performance planning, monitoring, and annual appraisals.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.
  • Represent KH MFI in ICT-related forums and industry networks.
  • Stay informed of technological developments and best practices in the financial and microfinance sectors.
  • Document and share lessons learned and best practices for institutional knowledge building.
  • Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL

  • MSc/BSc Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Systems, Information Technology and Software Engineering, MIS or related Field.
  • A minimum of 6/8 years of relevant work experience. Out of which 2 years in a managerial position in MFI, Bank and other Financial Institution.

    TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS

  • Excellent in strategic IT planning, including fostering innovation & allocating resources.
  • Collaborate with and maintain communications with executives and department heads in the institution.
  • Negotiate and approve technology vendor, outsourcing, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
  • Commendable skills in team leadership, employee development and interpersonal communication.
  • Strong command of project management principles, procedures and best practices.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement long-term strategies for production applications and databases, in coordination with data owners and department managers.
  • Manage ICT application and database projects;
  • support users with technical and project guidance.
  • Improve and optimize application functionality, performance, and business processes.
  • Design, create, and maintain databases, including modeling, capacity planning, constraints, indexes, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database systems; resolve issues such as slow queries, deadlocks, and performance bottlenecks using tools like SQL Profiler.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, backups, restoration, replication, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Administer user access controls and enforce database policies, coding standards, and QA procedures.
  • Collaborate with developers to support database operations and maintain consistency during migrations or upgrades.
  • Generate custom reports and complex queries in response to user and business needs.

Qualification and Technical Skill Required

  • B.Sc. degree in computer Science, Software engineering, Information Technology or related fields.
  • Experience in Core banking implementation or operation
  • Strong knowledge and practical use of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and application development methodologies.
  • Skilled in managing application development projects with effective technical documentation and communication.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities; able to evaluate complex issues and determine optimal solutions.
  • Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to collaborate within interdisciplinary teams and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 4/5 years’ experience minimum of relevant experience in MFI, Banking and other financial Institution
  • Technical trainings and proven experience on PL/SQL, T-SQL Microsoft SQL, MySQL and Oracle databases
  • Trainings and Experience on programming languages such as C++, PHP, html   preferred

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, controlling and supervising the marketing and partnership activities of the Institution;
  • Formulating and proposing marketing and partnership policies of the Institution for approval by higher management bodies;
  • Assess and find out potential partners for KHMFI.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing partnerships
  • Performs thorough evaluations of business opportunities created through marketing and partnership through analysis of potential business, competitive analysis, market analysis, performance analysis, technology platforms, and strategic fit.
  • Conduct the evaluation and development of the business’s long-term marketing plan across the operation’s departments.
  • Lead the research in the development and review of the branches marketing and network map.
  • Guide the marketing pre-feasibility and feasibility studies for new branch opening.

  • Design and formulates an appropriate marketing and partnership strategy;
  • Identify market opportunities and develop targeted value offerings;
  • Conduct programs designed to create, maintain and disseminate favourable image news about the Institution;
  • Communicate the values, ambitions and major activities undertaken by KHMFI and disseminates findings of major activities to the appropriate community, government authorities, donors and other stakeholders using written and electronic media;
  • Identify key media opportunities and execute media campaigns to enhance KHMFI reputation and to ensure the Institution’s key messages effectively reach target audiences;
  • Write up success stories of clients and distributes to appropriate target audiences;
  • Handle publication of periodic news bulletins of the Institution and distributes to all concerned parties;
  • Study and implement various marketing business ideas.
  • Documents and shares lessons learned from the experiences of other national and international MFIs;
  • Perform all other duties contributing to good image building and creation of good will.
  • Work cooperatively with different Departments.
  • Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • MB/MBA/BAdegree in the Marketing Management, Business Management, Economics or related fields
  • A minimum of 4/6 years of relevant experience, preferably in MFI.

TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS

  • Proven experience in marketing and communication roles, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Proficiency in crafting and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to drive brand awareness and market penetration
  • Strong knowledge of marketing principles, strategies, and tactics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees verification of client identity and assesses the creditworthiness of their businesses.
  2. Chairs the Branch Credit Committee (BCC) and actively participates in the evaluation, approval, or rejection of loan applications in accordance with delegated authority.
  3. Oversees savings deposits and withdrawals to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  4. Coordinates efforts related to growth areas and forecasts loan disbursement projections.
  5. Drive sales growth by developing strategies, setting targets, and motivating staff.
  6. Maintain excellent customer relationships, address concerns, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  7. Plans personnel capacity, selecting new staff, undertakes fair & equitable HRM and evaluating existing staff in accordance with management decisions

Marketing 

  • Promote the branch’s loan, savings, and other financial services to existing & prospective clients to support business growth and client engagement.

Qualification and Technical Skill Required

  • Bachelor’s degree/MA in Business Administration, Finance, Management, or a related field.
  • Certifications in business management, sales, or finance are advantageous.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Savings, Cash Operations, and Teller Supervision

  • Lead and support the marketing and promotion of savings products and consumer loans to increase client uptake and financial inclusion.
  • Supervise and review the daily activities of teller(s), promptly reporting any discrepancies or irregularities to the Branch Manager.
  • Ensure adequate staffing at the teller counter to effectively serve the expected volume of clients and maintain service quality.
  • Oversee and verify the preparation and review of Collection Register Vouchers (CRVs) in line with the collection schedule.
  • Execute day-to-day cash operations, including client withdrawals, deposits, disbursements, and other payment transactions.
  • Conduct daily reconciliation of the actual cash on hand against the system-reported balance in the MIS (Management Information System); report any discrepancies immediately to the Branch Manager.
  • Maintain cash balances within the approved minimum and maximum thresholds, in accordance with MFI policy and management directives.
  • Ensure that all cash transactions are secure and that counterfeit currency is neither accepted nor disbursed under any circumstances.

Consumer Loan Processing and Credit Assessment

  • Receive consumer loan applications and conduct thorough credit investigations on applicants and their guarantors, where applicable.
  • When necessary, perform inspections and appraisals of collateral offered to secure consumer loans, ensuring accurate valuation and documentation.
  • Prepare and present credit applications to the branch credit committee for review and approval in line with established lending policies.
  • Schedule and facilitate the disbursement of approved consumer loans and oversee the collection of repayments in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Evaluate clients’ repayment history and overall financial behavior to make informed recommendations for repeat loan eligibility.

Qualifications:  Knowledge and Technical Skills:

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in financial services is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated technical ability, sound judgment, ability to interact and work effectively with others at all levels;
  • Determined personality with initiative, perseverance and the ability to motivate and manage a team;
  • Capability and willingness to take responsibility and highly developed sense of integrity
  • Good knowledge in economic and financial topics;
